RETAIL DESIGN: San Antonio install  | flagship store update
XPEL - 2024-25
Overview
XPEL’s San Antonio facility in University Heights serves as the flagship location for its corporate-owned installation network. This project aimed to refresh the shop’s interior on a budget while aligning it with current brand standards. I developed the space’s potential look and feel, outlining a structured approach to the design overhaul, material selection, and projected timelines.
To bring the concept to life, I utilized my knowledge of retail design combined real-world imagery with digital collage and generative tools to create realistic visualizations.
NOTE: Renders are shown largely unfurnished & un-staged, pending additional development of in-store point of sale displays, product demos, marketing collateral. and customer education components.
Challenge
Like most built-in design projects, the biggest challenge was delivering a polished, high-quality result within budget. Through strategic material selection, we developed a sophisticated design that achieves a premium look without excessive costs. Once implemented, this update will elevate the customer experience, bringing the direct sales environment in line with client expectations for a premium accessory brand.
Solution
To address this, I developed a strategic design approach that balanced brand alignment, budget constraints, and visual impact.
This included:
Material Selection – Identified cost-effective yet high-quality materials to achieve a premium aesthetic.

Visual Concept Development – Created realistic renderings to showcase the proposed updates and ensure stakeholder alignment.

Scalability & Implementation Planning – Structured the design to be easily executed within budget and adaptable to future needs.
Outcome
The final result will be a refreshed, premium retail environment that aligns with brand standards while staying within budget. This update is expected to enhance the customer experience, strengthen brand perception, and elevate the direct sales environment to meet client expectations.

Next Steps
As implementation progresses, the next phase will focus on refining material selections, coordinating vendor execution, and ensuring seamless installation. Future iterations may include additional branding elements, interactive displays, or expanded design rollouts to further enhance the customer experience.
This project also serves as a blueprint for future retail and service center updates, influencing how we approach budget-conscious yet high-impact interior refreshes across other locations.
